Thanks everyone!

Wanted to share that in the 24 hours after the official "launch" of Imago Photography, this website/blog has been viewed 354 times. Wowzas! Holy cow. That is amazing. Thanks to all of you for your interest! Looks like there are alot of folks out there who would like to win a free portrait session! :)

I've got a few sessions in the works, but until then, I will leave you with another shot of my everyday muse. Some days, she gets tired of her momma busting out the camera. This day, she
was workin' it. :)

Who Needs To Have Their Picture Taken?

My theory is that everyone, somewhere, way down deep, likes to be photographed. It's a way to capture ourselves so that we have the unique opportunity to step away from the mirror and see what the world gets to.... Of course, there are folks that are shy, or even hate the thought of being the center of attention. But, if it is true that we are ALL fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God, then doesn't that mean that we are all BEAUTIFUL? After all, God is beauty and love and every other good thing...

So...why would someone schedule a session to be photographed? Glad you asked...

There's the standard:
*cute little baby in each season of development
*glowing momma-to-be
*engaged couple
*family portrait, especially at Christmas time
*couple tying the knot
*teenager graduating from high school

Or the occasional:
*need for a headshot to be posted online for your place of work
*you're in a band or have a special talent and need to promote yourself
*birthday girl or boy so that mommy can focus on party details and maybe even having a little fun!

Or even:
*just because you wanted to OR
*you just can't seem to find a good profile picture for your online social networking agent of choice.

Whatever your reason, I'd love the opportunity to help you get in touch with your inner ham. Stay tuned for a FREE opportunity to do just that... :)

Humble beginnings...

I've always wondered if characterizing oneself as humble is in fact the opposite...but I am going to take a risk here and ponder exactly what God is doing in my life right now. Photography has always been an interest for me. I am that girl, camera in hand, just waiting to capture moments in time, whether it be a special event that I am attending, a sweet moment with my daughter, or a fun evening with friends.

Recently, I have stumbled upon the manual settings of my camera, no longer so intimidated that I just default to automatic. The lovely Emily Anderson (www.olliewrenphoto.com) and Emma Joersz (myodddog.com) have gifted me their shutterbug wisdom and so I jump in with both feet to my "humble beginnings" as a "photographer." I guess I wasn't even saying that it was me that was humble anyways... :)

Now, I find myself making a facebook "visual artist" page and creating a professional-ish type of a blog to exhibit my work. I have no idea where this adventure will take me....but I am thrilled to think of the possibilities. Thank you for being interested enough to log on to my blog and look through my work. If you are skilled at photography and you have any helpful tips or constructive criticism to offer, I welcome it. And as always, I love comments!
